I built a tavern in my head and filled it with anime heroes, each one standing in for a part of me: the guard, the planner, the lonely king, the scumbag who just wants to survive. It was my attempt at IFS (Internal Family Systems) therapy. The album is those parts meeting, arguing, and finally deciding that the pain handed down in my family ends with me.
