Sugar Rush
When you aren't getting real fuel, you run on whatever burns fastest: sugar, caffeine, stress. This is me wide awake at 4 A.M., burning the furniture to stay warm, and knowing it won't last.
I woke up sweating at 4 A M
The glucose levels are peaking again
I can't eat the dinner, I can't eat the meat
So I’m burning the furniture just for the heat
A spoon full of white, a spoon full of dread
It’s the only thing getting me out of the bed
I don't have a purpose, I don't have a goal
I just have a fire burning a hole

I’m running on the caffeine to get through the night
There’s no nutrition, there’s no sustain
Just a lightning bolt hitting the side of the brain
It’s a toxic energy, a chemical lie
I’m vibrating fast while I wither and die
The crash is coming, I know it’s near
But I’ll eat another spoonful of pure, white fear
The pancreas screams, the insulin spikes
I’m riding the highs of the terrifying hikes
I finish the project, I pay the bill
Not because I want to, but because I’m shrill
I’m rotting the system, I’m killing the cell
Turning the body into a sugary hell
Resistance is building, the door is closed
The biological payment is being imposed
I’m running on the Sugar, I’m running on the Fright
I’m running on the caffeine to get through the night
