Nectarade
She's the hummingbird. I planted a whole garden hoping she'd stop by, and this is me realizing that a glimpse of her flying past was all I was going to get, and letting go. Keep flying, just like you are.
Is it a bee or is it a drone?
Listen for the sound I'm not alone
Flashing right past too busy to stay
Hittin' all the marks to collect the pay
Puttin' on the show, all poise and pizazz
Everyone can see you're a different class
But behind your flashing feathers I see
You're just another addict like me
Sugar rush
Feel the blush
One more sip
Now let it rip
Humming along from bloom to bloom
Buzzing like a engine that's gone too soon
Drinkin' down sugar like a chocolate snack
You're perfect, my panic attack
Shimmering with colors in the burning light
Every single glimpse is my favorite sight
Got me planting a garden in the hope I'll see
The pretty little bird humming like a bee
Wanna hold tight, put you under the glass
But a bird like you was built to go fast
Too determined to stop, too slick to be
Just owned by a dirt-locked farmer like me
I can't eat flowers, but that's my crops
Just for the hope that I'll see you stop
Perch and stay and take a breath
To move on faster after a rest
Humming along from bloom to bloom
Buzzing like a engine that's gone too soon
Drinkin' down sugar like a chocolate snack
You're perfect, my panic attack
Shimmering with colors in the burning light
Every single glimpse is my favorite sight
Got me planting a garden in the hope I'll see
The pretty little bird humming like a bee
Do you like the orange ones or maybe green?
The flowers I offer are what you need
I don't have to keep you to hold you tight
With every glance of my unblinking sight
Keep flying
Just like you are
