Fate of the Gods (Remastered)
A history of every deity known to have touched our world, written right when it was becoming clear that we'd stumbled into some kind of divine power struggle. And at the top of it all sits the one being who rules over even the gods: our Dungeon Master.
Come and hear the history
One man beat the odds
Wove new threads of fantasy
Mastered even gods
It's hard to see the future
Based on just the past
Fate's open wound to suture
Time's bleeding out fast
Movement of cosmic forces
Long before we came
The plot follows the courses
Dungeon Master's game
The fate of the gods!
The land and all within!
With the DM's nod
Then let the game begin!
In Teladrimm's history
Land the Elders built
Where they're from, a mystery
Soon their blood was spilled
Stargazer grabbed at Elderbane
Down the comet fell
Punched a hole in Umbral Lake
So the legends tell
Split the magic Weave in twain
Eternal life lost
Wisdom's hubris caused the pain
Didn't mind the cost
The fate of the gods!
The land and all within!
With the DM's nod
Then let the game begin!
This ended the Elder gods
Tiamat below
Bahamut, blinded and gone
Others we don't know
The druids had a Phoenix
Gave its life to save
The land hiding the scenic
Unborn Child's grave
We're told there was a family
Three numbered, Divine
Queen and King and Daughter be
Watching human lines
The fate of the gods!
The land and all within!
With the DM's nod
Then let the game begin!
Cut off from arcane magic
People helpless still
From lake, the monsters tragic
The innocent killed
The gods could only look on
No Weave, could not reach
All for back story a pawn
Whispers came to teach
Between the undead life steal
Rising from the lake
Asmodeus, Dreadlord's deal
Too good not to take
The fate of the gods!
The land and all within!
With the DM's nod
Then let the game begin!
There's still some missing pieces
As we're finding out
The history's got creases
Lost by common crowd
(Lost by common crowd)
We know we've got to stop this
Or just here to see
Our opportunity miss
Trapped by destiny
(Trapped by destiny)
It all comes down to the dice
Roll to set gods free
They'll be free!
The fate of the gods!
The land and all within!
With the DM's nod
Then let the game begin!
The fate of the gods!
The fate of the gods!
The land and all within!
With the DM's nod
Then let the game begin!
Let the game begin!
The fate of the gods!
(The fate of the gods!)
One hour at a time!
(Just an hour of your time)
Thanks to random odds
(What could be?)
Don't know the final line!
(So let's see!)
