Squirrely Cat
One of my cat songs, told from Mr. Mazer's side. There was a squirrel outside the kitchen window mocking him, and he was very worried about it: Papa needed to deal with this intruder immediately. He later came to tattle about a hawk staring at Cedar, too.
Mreow!
Papa, there's a problem
Please won't you come see
Out the kitchen window
The squirrel is mocking me
Every day he sits there
Looks into my eyes
That I can't go get him
He seems to recognize
Mreow!
You've got to take care of this
Intruder to my space
We can't let this insult stand
To my kitty face
He's smug and small and furry
And I'm a force of death
Just open up the window
Cat claws can do the rest
When I was a younger kitty
Squirrels I would hunt
Now see him sitting on the fence
Mocking me, the MEOW!
Please, papa, I beg you
Just come and see
When you see his beady eyes
I'm sure that you'll agree
Fine, I'll take a treat instead
I hear the words you talk
But I'm warning you that next time
It's gonna be a hawk
