Sailors of Chance
Yes, we stole the dinghy. But when the kraken came up, we used it to row out and save a crew of strangers. That's about as heroic as this bunch ever got on purpose.
Sure we stole the dinghy
Yes, we rocked the boat
But without assistance
Those oil men'd lose hope
Aboard the Aegis Six we sailed
Passengers, not crew
But when the kraken rose up
Aedric knew just what to do
He forced us on the small craft
He dropped us down below
To save those men under attack
The five of us would go
We're sailors by chance (Dang!)
By wave and die we roll
To fight the kraken, claim the fuel
Is it too late not to go?
The guards both stared impassive
As away from ship we moved
You're gonna die there they called
Those tentacles all loomed
Jasper the halfling jerk off
Up on the prow he hopped
Closed his eyes and raised his bow
He hit, such a show-off
But not just any arrow
Was launched into its maw
A shrinking pill pick pocketed
From Rosario, down its craw
We're sailors by chance (Dang!)
By wave and die we roll
To fight the kraken, claim the fuel
Is it too late not to go?
It shuddered, thrashed, and
Shrunk down, to merely massive size
Confusion first, then cold rage
Gleamed at us from its eyes
It chased us, so we turned back
Towards the Aegis six's guns
But it was faster than we were
And despite our tricks, we're done
Most fell over board the stern
As Jim clung to the wheel
The rhythm of the water
His hips could seem to feel
We're sailors by chance (Hey!)
By wave and die we roll
To fight the kraken, claim the fuel
Is it too late not to go?
The pill didn't last overlong
The kraken grew again
But uneven, roared in rage
And burst out of its skin
Gravely wounded, skinned alive
It rose above the waves
When with a crack of thunder
Its skull the Aegis caved
Aedric's silly flare gun
Had called for help in time
And thanks to Captain Proud's crew
We wouldn't sleep in brine
We're sailors by chance (Yeah!)
By wave and die we roll
To fight the kraken, claim the fuel
Is it too late not to go?
We're sailors by chance (Hey!)
By wave and die we roll
To fight the kraken, claim the fuel
Is it too late not to go?
