Senses homework from my time on a kitchen line: tickets screaming, ovens roaring, hands moving faster than thought. It's chaos I know by heart, and oddly one of the places I've felt most alive.
Ticket machine is screaming, a paper tongue of need
Another hungry stranger I've got to feed
The ovens are roaring, the clock is unkind
