The Warrior and the Wolf
I wake with no pain, and the wolf is lying beside me, calm. I stopped fighting my needs and let them stand with me, and accepted that my body is something to work with, not against. For the first time, I felt whole.
The world comes back, not with a sound
But with the feeling of the ground
No searing pain, no crimson flood
Just quiet strength in my own blood
And by my side, a steady breath
The beast who promised me my death
His eyes are clear, the rage is gone
Waiting for a brand new dawn
And I am the thunder, I am the storm
A broken thing, made new and warm
With Fenrir's strength and my own soul
A warrior, finally made whole
This is the peace I've waited for
No longer fighting my own war
The hammer's in my steady hand
The truest king of my own land
We hunt together, side-by-side
With nothing left to run or hide
Not for a throne, not for a crown
But for the ones who hold me down
To earth, to life, to hearth, to home
The sacred ground where I can roam
We bring them food, we bring them fire
The only prize I now desire
And I am the thunder, I am the storm
A broken thing, made new and warm
With Fenrir's strength and my own soul
A warrior, finally made whole
This is the peace I've waited for
No longer fighting my own war
The hammer's in my steady hand
The truest king of my own land
My greatest weakness, my deepest scar
Became the brightest, burning star
The beast I fought, the thing I feared
Was just the part of me I'd sheared
Away, and left to bleed alone
Now we are flesh, and we are bone
Two halves of a forgotten name
Forged back together in the flame
I am the thunder
I am the wolf
I am the hammer
I am the proof
That in the end
I am enough
I am worthy
I am home
